The organisers of a recent scooter run in County Waterford have acknowledged all those who contributed to the event, ensuring it was a great success.
Members of the Only Fools On Scooters group along with colleagues in the Kickstart Scooter Club took part in the Dave Scanlon Memorial Rideout.

The run saw the participants take in some of the most spectacular scenery in the country as they made their way from Waterford to Dungarvan. Commenting on the event to Waterford News & Star, one of the organisers said: "Dave was one of our scooter mates and his sister is still involved."

Dave, who passed away two years ago, was from Waterford but lived in Dungarvan and had numerous friends in both places. A very popular member of the group he is still very much missed by all who knew him.
As a tribute to him the club members decided to organise an annual ride out and the proceeds from this years run will go towards palliative care support in University Hospital Waterford.

In addition to members of the two Waterford groups there were also scooter enthusiasts from Carlow, Thurles, Cork and Clonmel involved, much to the delight of the organisers.
When the participants arrived back in Dungarvan they were treated to some delicious treats and home-baking. The proceeds from the run will be donated to the palliative care team in UHW in the coming weeks.
