Vintage club to organise memorial road run

The Sean Ryan Memorial Run will take place in August.
A vintage club located in the south east it organising a memorial road run in honour of one of its members who passed away two years ago.
The Mooncoin Vintage Club is organising the Sean Ryan Memorial Run for Sunday, August 11. It will take place from the Royal Oak Bar in Mooncoin, South Kilkenny (X91X9FA).
Registration will take place from 10am and the registration fee will be €20. The run will set off on an 80km loop at 12.30pm sharp and will return to the Royal Oak Bar for refreshments afterwards.
Those with cars and bikes are welcome to participate and vintage and modern machinery will be eligible to take part in the run.
All proceeds from the event will go directly towards Mooncoin Cancer Support Group.
A GoFundMe campaign was set up to coincide with the run and in a post on the fundraising platform the organisers of the road run said Sean passed away on December 1, 2022, following a short illness.
Sean was a member of the Mooncoin Vintage Club for many years and was highly regarded in both the local community and in the rallying community.
"The Mooncoin Cancer Support Group have been an amazing support to so many families in our community and therefore we would like to take this opportunity to raise awareness and funds for them," said the road run organisers in their online post
"This support group was founded in 2019 under the directions of Vicky Phelan," they added.
"It was Vicky's way of giving back to our great community for helping both her and her family and it is now her lasting legacy to the community.".
The organisers went on to state: "We hope you can help us by donating whatever you can."
