University Hospital Waterford nurses have unveiled a brand-new recipe book, full of original recipes from nurses working in the hospital.

The book contains a collection of favourite meals from home and treasured family dishes, each with their own story.

Dishes from the Philippines, India, Italy, Poland, Nigeria, Ireland, England and more are included.

UHW nurse, Dearbhaile Ryan, said: "We have a lot of international colleagues here, and anytime someone leaves we’d always have a leaving do and they’d bring in their native dishes so we can get a taste of global flavours.

"So we said we’d put out our own recipe book containing stories from the individual nurses about the dishes and what it means to them."

"There's a story behind every one of them,” Dearbhaile added.

You can get your copy from the stand at the main reception. Proceeds from the book are going towards St Vincent De Paul.
