Tributes are paid to 'beautiful lady' who died in Dungarvan car crash

Tributes have been paid to the late Margaret Burnes of Dungarvan, who tragically lost her life in a car crash recently. She was the 100th person to die on Irish roads this year.
Margaret (Maggie Aggie) Burnes (née Troy), of White Strand, Abbeyside, Dungarvan, and formerly of Ballyogarty, Kilmacthomas, died in a two-vehicle collision on Tuesday, July 9.
The fatal road collision involved a truck and a car, and occurred at approximately 9.20am on the N25 near Garranbane.
Ms Burnes, the driver of the car, was treated by emergency services at the scene but sadly passed away from her injuries. The male driver of the truck was taken to University Hospital Waterford where he received treatment for injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening.
Margaret is predeceased by her parents James and Nellie, brother Shamie and sisters Pat and Philomena. She is deeply mourned by her loving daughter Jenny, granddaughter Sophie, sisters Ollie and Barbara, her brother John, brother-in-law Gerry and John, sisters-in-law Mary and Ann, nephews, nieces, neighbours and extended family.
Condolences have been expressed from near and far.
One message from Rip.ie reads, “She was a beautiful lady. We shall miss seeing her gentle smile as we passed her house on our walks out of Abbey Gardens. She tended to her garden so wonderfully.”
Another says, “I will miss seeing Maggie tending her garden as I pass daily.”
Condolences were also expressed from Access IT in Ballybeg: “We are deeply saddened to hear of Margaret's passing. She was a regular student at our training centre and always brought an enthusiastic attitude and a sunny disposition. She will be missed. Our condolences to her family. “
Another mourner wrote: “Even though you are no longer with us, your love and presence will always be remembered. You brought warmth into people’s lives and your memory will always be cherished by us and many others.”
