Tramore skatepark in Waterford to be officially opened this week

The skatepark in Tramore will be officially opened this week.

The official opening of Tramore Stakepark will take place on Thursday, September 19, at 12 noon.

A spokesperson for the local authority said Tramore’s newest outdoor amenity, which will be located on the Lower Prom, will be officially opened by the Mayor of Waterford City and County, Councillor Jason Murphy.

Waterford City and County Council secured funding from the the Department of Rural and Community Development's Community Recognition Fund and the local authority also provided additional funds for the construction of this high quality facility, which was designed with input from the local skateboarding community.

There is great support for the amenity and it's hoped it will become an attraction for not just skateboarders within the town itself but also the wider community.
