Sacred Heart Family Resource Centre gathered together to celebrate National Play Day at Tiptoes Early Years Service, on Tuesday, July 16.

The day was marked by giving the new equipment, which was recently purchased with a grant from Waterford City and County Council, a test run by children attending the childcare centre. The equipment included balance bikes, hula hoops, juggling balls and a junior basketball hoop.

"We also had our summer camp children celebrating the day and they had great fun completing obstacle courses," said Heather Kiely, Project Manager at Sacred Heart Family Resource Centre.

"This event is part of Sacred Heart Family Resource Centre's ongoing commitment to promoting and encouraging healthy and active children as part of our core work," continued Ms Kiely.

"Along with Tiptoes Community Childcare Centre and out-of-school term camps, a family support service, community food and nutrition service, Waterford Social Prescribing Service, community education programmes and information, advice and admin support are also provided to individuals and families.

"As a registered charity, the core services are funded by the HSE, Tusla, WWETB, and Pobal, with grants from Waterford Council, Waterford Area Partnership, SECAD and others, which support our programme delivery and the purchase of necessary equipment and resources," Ms Kiely concluded.
