Three-year old Jayden O’Neill returned home from UHW on Sunday, March 22, following a fall from a two-storey balcony on Friday, March 20.

Jayden O’Neill was playing on the balcony in his apartment at Mount Suir Manor, before falling through the balcony’s windowpane.

His older sister, Nevaeh (7) attempted to catch Jayden- sustaining minor injuries upon impact.

Ryan O’Neill said his three-year old son is struggling to walk after the accident. The child suffered a brain bleed following the roughly six-metre fall.

“His legs are gone from under him…he’s really complaining about pains in his shoulders and arms,” Mr O’Neill said.

“Hopefully he recovers now, he’s just in really bad pain, he’s trying to walk around…he’s falling down sometimes, it’s just terrible.” The family are currently living in the home of Ryan O’Neill’s mother.

The family are due to have a meeting with Waterford City and County Council on Monday to outline future steps regarding accommodation.
