Hickson’s Centra in Tramore is offering local school children a “safe place” to go if their journey to and from school does not go to plan.

In a post on social media, the shop posted a notice for parents to say that Hickson’s Centra is a place where their children can go for help.

They said that whether a child misses a bus, their phone battery dies, or if they just need a place to be collected, they can come to the shop.

“With Children all back at schools this week, we want to point out to parents & children that Centra is here as a part of the local community as a safe place.

“We are close to the schools, and we know that the school run doesn’t always go to plan.

"That’s why our doors are open as a safe and welcoming place for children if they ever need it.

“They are welcome to come to our store, a friendly, safe place for your child to wait.

"Members of our staff will be available to assist if required,” Hickson’s wrote.

The store is located in Corbally Upper in Tramore.

They suggest that parents point out the shop and make sure their child knows where it is.

“From all the team at Hickson’s Centra, good luck to all children starting back to school – and remember, you’re always welcome in our store,” wrote Hickson’s Centra.
