Tender for Ferrybank's Clover Meats grounds for recreational use

The development of the former Clover Meats grounds continues apace. 

Director of Services at Kilkenny County Council Ian Gardner stated in response to a query from Councillor Tomás Breathnach (Labour):

"A letter of intent to award contract had been issued in December, the consultants had until the 10th of January to submit additional information.

"Subject to the satisfactory submission of that information, a [...] tender will be issued in mid-January."

He continued: "Once the tender is awarded, a meeting will be arranged to discuss the delivery program. The tender documentation included a contract duration of eight months.

"An issue of public consultation will be scheduled for Q2 of this year."

The centre was acquired by Kilkenny County Council in 2023. 

In 2024, the area was included for redevelopment under the ORIS (Outdoor Recreational Infrastructure Scheme) for recreational and community use.
