Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision involving a car and a van near Mooncoin, in Co. Kilkenny on Tuesday, November 25.

At approximately half-past midnight on Tuesday, Gardaí and emergency services responded to reports of a two-vehicle collision on the L3401 in the townland of Clogga, between Piltown and Mooncoin.

The driver of the car, an adult male in his late teens, was brought to University Hospital Waterford for treatment of serious injuries. 

A passenger in the car, a male juvenile, also attended University Hospital Waterford where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. A technical examination of the scene was conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and who were travelling in the area around the time of the collision are asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
