Taoiseach Micheál Martin has praised the Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens in Tramore.
The Taoiseach visited the gardens on Friday on a trip to Waterford to open the Blackwater Community School.
In a post on social media, the Taoiseach said: “A pleasure to visit the Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens in Tramore today.
“The gardens are truly phenomenal - a tribute to Hearn’s legacy and to the enduring friendship between Ireland and Japan.
"Deep thanks to Agnes, whose vision created them, and to the staff who maintain them with such care.”
