Criminal law barristers across the nation withdrew their services last Tuesday as part of an ongoing dispute with Government.

Waterford City Courthouse was included in the disruption to services, along with 15 other courts nationally, as no cases involving the criminal law barristers were heard on the day.

The criminal law barristers are demanding the reversal of pay cuts, which have effectively been in place since the financial crash in 2008.

The barristers were promised a pay review by the Minister for Justice, Helen McEntee, however, the said promise has not yet been fulfilled, nor has the review process begun.

The dispute continues.
