There were scenes of great celebration in Madonna House in Ferrybank recently for the 100th birthday celebrations of St Teresina O'Byrne. 

Born in Ballon, Co Carlow, where she went to primary school Sr Teresina received her secondary education in Ferrybank.

She entered the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary congregation in 1943.

Sr. Teresina ministered in a number of different places throughout her lifetime including in England, Ireland, Scotland and Brazil.

She returned to Ferrybank to retire in 2014. 

Her recent 100th birthday celebrations at Madonna House saw her joined by a large number of family, friends and staff members who took great pleasure in helping her celebrate her milestone birthday.
