Soccer legend John O'Shea present as Waterford club stalwart honoured

Irish soccer legend, John O'Shea, was in attendance at Ballyduff AFC stalwart, Paddy Kirk, was honoured by the Waterford Junior League.
Irish international soccer legend, John O'Shea, who also served as interim coach of the Irish senior squad, was among those in attendance at a ceremony in his native Déise county recently to honour a hometown legend within the sport.
Paddy Kirk, from Amberhill, Co Waterford, was honoured by the Waterford Junior League who presented him with a Special Recognition Award for his many years of service to his beloved club, Ballyduff AFC.
This award was richly deserved as Paddy has been, and still is, the very heartbeat of the club. His enthusiasm and affection for the club is infectious and he is loved by players and coaches alike.
Actively encouraging and helping all the players in the club has gone a long way to ensuring they are happy to remain with Ballyduff as they go up through the ranks.
As one local person commented: "All this work is done with a smile on his face and a friendly welcome for players and visitors alike."
