Met Éireann has issued a moderate weather warning for Waterford with possible snow and ice on the way.
The warning was issued by Waterford City and County Council on behalf of Met Éireann and relates to Storm Goretti.
Rain is expected, which will be heavy at times, however, it's also expected it will turn to sleet and snow in places on Thursday afternoon, particularly at elevation.
Accumulations are possible and the potential impacts could include hazardous travelling conditions, spot flooding, poor visibility and icy patches.
The snow and ice severity level is marked as 'Yellow' and the warning will come into effect from 12 noon on Thursday, January 8, until 8pm that evening.
In addition to Waterford other counties for which the warning will be in place will include Wexford, Cork and Kerry.
