Skillful Waterford retirement group sponsored by Amazon

It was much to the delight of the Suir Active Retirement Knitting Group that they were invited to Amazon Headquarters recently. 

The group travelled to the main Irish offices which are based in Naas, County Kildare and they were treated to lunch and a tour of the premises. 

As the group knit and donate blankets to palliative care patients and nursing home residents, the team in Amazon felt it was appropriate to sponsor the Suir Active Retirement Knitting Group with beautiful gift bags, in which they can now present their handmade blankets. 

Ms Quinlan, the secretary of the group said: "The Suir Active Retirement group is now in its 12th year, and our members have a wide variety and richness of skills. As older people, we are still making a valuable contribution to society and we decided to come together to form a knitting group. We are delighted that we can support palliative care patients, while our members also support each other socially."
