Waterford City & County Council has issued a 'severe weather warning' for the county going into the weekend.
The warning issued on behalf of Met Éireann warned of severe rain.
According to the notice it's expected there will be heavy rain and possible thundery downpours.
There is also a possibility of river flooding - especially in mountainous areas - and very difficult traveling conditions.
The warning was classified at status level orange and will be in place from 8pm today, Saturday, October 18, to 5am tomorrow morning, Sunday, October 19.
In addition to Waterford the warning is also in place for County Cork.
