With the release of the 2024 Leaving Certificate results, the Chat to SETU teams in Waterford and Carlow are ready to support students when they receive their Round 1 CAO offers next week.

A spokesperson for the Technological University told Waterford News & Star that a dedicated team will be available from today, Friday, August 23, until Friday, September 11, to address any student queries or concerns during this critical period.

Commenting on the initiative, Jess Lawton, Marketing & Outreach Officer at SETU, said: "The release of Leaving Certificate results, followed just five days later by Round 1 CAO offers, can be an incredibly challenging period for students. If you don't receive your first-choice offer, it can be especially stressful."

"It’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed but remember, you’re not alone," said Jess, who went on to comment: "The Chat to SETU team is here to answer all your questions."

Students with questions about their CAO offers can reach out to SETU’s experienced support team through the university's telephone helplines: Waterford Helpline (051 845653); Carlow and Wexford Helplines (059 9175088, 059 9175173 and 059 9175174).

A web chat facility is also available at SETU.ie.

"The SETU team will also connect with students via Instagram Live, hosting Q&A sessions on Instagram stories from 2pm on Wednesday, August 28 to 9pm on Thursday, August 29," said the university's spokesperson.

"This is a great opportunity for students to ask questions about their course offers, accommodation, student life, and everything they need to know about starting college at SETU this September," she added.

Exploring the campus is an important part of choosing a university and SETU is offering guided campus tours from Friday, August 23 to Friday, September 13. The will take place daily from 10am to 3pm at the Cork Road Campus in Waterford, the Kilkenny Road Campus in Carlow and the Summerhill Campus in Wexford. Pre-booking is required, with tours starting at the main entrance of each campus.
