The Service of Remembrance will take place in St Paul's Parish Centre in Waterford

People throughout Waterford City and beyond are invited to attend a community 'Service of Remembrance and Hope' to celebrate the lives of those loved and lost, as a result of substance misuse and related effects.

The service will take place in St Paul's Parish Centre on Wednesday, May 7, at 7pm.

One of those involved commented: "Many of those lost were young people who lived and grew up in this parish and the wider area."

"We invite you to join families, friends, neighbours and the wider community as we show empathy and compassion as we celebrate the lives that have been lost," she said.

"Nothing loved is ever lost and they are loved so much," she added.

After the service there will be light refreshments served and everyone is welcome to attend.
