"The Coast Guard Coordination centre in Dublin has suspended an ongoing search for a man overboard from a UK registered yacht," the spokesperson said, shortly before midnight on Sunday night.
"An extensive search of the area south of Dunmore East was conducted by Coast Guard resources from midnight on Saturday," said the spokesperson.
The search team included Coast Guard helicopters R117, R116, a UK Coast Guard fixed wing, Dunmore Lifeboat, Kilmore Quay and Ballycotton Lifeboats.
