The pupils in a primary school in County Waterford showcased their caring nature and sense of community in an exemplary way recently by raising money for one of the country's most respected community support organisations.

The 5th and 6th class pupils of St. Mary's National School in Touraneena held a breakfast event in support of Childline.

They invited along the younger children from their local Tír na nÓg Playschool and treated them to a beautiful breakfast and a tour of their own school.

It was a great success and was very much enjoyed by all of the children involved and as one local commented: "Great credit is due to the primary school classes for raising funds for such a worthy cause."
