Waterford City and County Council have issued an advanced notice of an imminent road closure in County Waterford to necessitate roadworks to take place.

In the notice a local authority spokesperson said: "Waterford City and County Council wish to advise that nighttime roadworks will take place on the Tramore Road (R675), Waterford from, Wednesday, August 13, to Friday, August 15."

"A road closure will be in effect for the duration of the works and the public is advised to adhere to all local traffic management and follow directional signage for the duration of the works," said the spokesperson.

The works shall commence at 8pm and finish at 6am over the three nights.

"Works shall take place between the Tramore Road roundabout and the Cork Road Junction," noted the spokesperson.

The work is being carried out at night with the intention of minimising any potential traffic disruption these works may cause for residents, businesses and commuters within the vicinity.

"It will also prioritise the safety of all road users and working personnel on-site," said the spokesperson.

Emergency access will be maintained for the duration of the works and Waterford City and County Council apologised for any inconvenience caused in addition to asking for the public's understanding and co-operation during the course of these works.
