Road reopens following serious road traffic incident in Waterford

The R680 Cork Road in Waterford City has been reopened.

The road was closed to facilitate a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators of the scene of a serious road traffic incident on Sunday evening.

APPEAL 

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the incident, which involved a car and an e-bike and happened at around 8pm.

The cyclist, an 18-year-old male, was taken to University Hospital Waterford for serious injuries.

The motorist, an adult male, was assessed at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.

Gardaí are asking anyone with camera footage, including motorists with dash-cam footage from the area at the time to provide it to investigating gardaí.
