Road in Waterford to be temporarily closed to pedestrians
Waterford City and County Council has issued a notice of its intention to close a section of the Passage Road in Waterford City to pedestrians.
The closure will come into effect from Tuesday, August 4, and will remain in place until Friday, August 7, inclusive.
A spokesperson for the local authority said the pedestrian closure will apply between the junction with St. Alphonsus Road and the junction with John’s Hill to facilitate infrastructure works.
"The existing temporary road closure on this section of Passage Road remains in place," said the spokesperson.
"These works form part of the St. John of God National School, Passage Road, Safe Routes to School Scheme, and the installation of permanent infrastructure associated with the Newtown Area One-Way System (Phases 1 and 2)," added the spokesperson, who also said: "Waterford City and County Council appreciates that these temporary restrictions may cause inconvenience and thanks the public for its patience, understanding and cooperation while these improvement works are carried out."
