Revenue officers have seized €575,000 worth of contraband in operations in Waterford, Wexford, the midlands and Dublin.

One hundred and forty-two weapons were also seized in the Midlands in intelligence-led operations.

Herbal cannabis, edibles, cannabis resin, tablets and various other drugs were among the items seized in intelligence-led operations.

Tobacco and alcohol to the value of €5,000 and €152,900 worth of counterfeit items were also seized.

The drugs were discovered with the assistance of detector dogs Sam, Ciara and Enzo, whilst Revenue officers were examining parcels at premises in Dublin and the Midlands.

The parcels originated from Canada, the USA, the UK, Italy, France, Spain, Netherlands, the UK, France, and the Czech Republic, and were destined for addresses nationwide.

The counterfeit goods were seized as they were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights.

The tobacco and alcohol products were seized in various operations in the Midlands and Wexford.

Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.
