'Residents are miserable' - ongoing crime and antisocial behaviour in Dungarvan

At Gallowshill in Dungarvan, there have been constant reports of serious anti-social behaviour and criminality.
The location is a prominent historical mound located on the edge of a housing estate in Dungarvan town.
Local councillor, Tom Cronin, said last week that crime at the location is getting out of hand.
“Scramblers, antisocial behaviour, people drinking, dumping rubbish, burning mattresses and furniture. It's ongoing year after year and to be fair we’re doing very little about it.
“The residents who are living beside it are not the cause of it, it's being caused by visitors coming in from another housing estate nearby. It’s totally unfair.”
Cllr Cronin said that both the gardaí and the Council need to cooperate in order to sort the issue.
"It's about time now that there was a little bit of cooperation between both to put this to an end. It's totally wrong."
Meanwhile, Cllr Joe O’Riordan said there have been videos circulated of young people in nearby estates who are “racing down the road" on horses.
“People are miserable inside that estate because of the trouble and messing they have to put up with,” he said.
“It's not fair on people who have worked all their lives, and now they have to look at that nonsense going on outside their front door.”
