Relief in Waterford as 6-year-old found safe and well

A frantic search for a missing 6-year-old in Waterford had a happy outcome after the child was found safe and well.

The search began after the youngster was reported missing on Wednesday, October 2. Prior to being found he had been last seen at around 6.15pm in the Gracedieu area of the city.

An appeal went out from those close to the family asking people to help with the search and to share information online and the response was immense throughout the city.

It's believed the child may have fallen asleep after wandering off but thankfully was found safe and well shortly after 11.30pm on Wednesday. 

Everyone involved in the search was very appreciative of the help and support from the public.
