'Positive' signs ahead for Ferrybank Shopping Centre as Council officials meet with Dunnes group

Senior Executive Officer Marie Phelan said that Kilkenny Council officials had "positive engagement" with the Dunnes group in relation to Ferrybank Shopping Centre.
Another month, another 'positive' encounter with the owners of the long dormant Ferrybank Shopping Centre.
After a decade and a half of inaction, anticipation continues to grow for something (anything) to be done with the large-scale site.
Senior Executive Officer Marie Phelan said at the recent Piltown Council meeting that Kilkenny Council officials had "positive engagement" with senior management of the Dunnes group over the last few weeks.
Cathaoirleach Ger Frisby said: "I think, reading between the lines, that it was positive, they know they have to make something worthwhile happen here.
"Look, I know it's drip-feeding and slow, but we're going in the right direction."
