Popular clothing shop in Waterford, 'The Vintage Factory', announced that it will be closing down in December.

In a post on Facebook they said

"This has been the absolute toughest decision we’ve ever had to make but as a small business we simply can’t afford to survive. There is no support for small businesses and rising costs have crippled us.

"We have received so so much support over the years from our gorgeous customers, many of whom have been with us since day one and we will be forever grateful to have had the opportunity to grow our little vintage shop from a pop up shop in Newgate street to our little haven that has supported us and kept us going through a lifetime of ups and downs.

We’re heartbroken."

They noted that they will still be receiving weekly deliveries until December and asked people to come in and spend their vouchers before their closing date which is December 20th.

They ended the post by asking people to shop local in independent shops in Waterford. They said:

"I can promise you every penny spent in a small store makes a massive and direct difference."
