People of Waterford invited to have their say on EV strategy

The Waterford public are invited to have input into the development of EV charging infrastructure
The people of County Waterford are invited to have their say on a regional EV (Electric Vehicle) strategy.
The goal of the strategy will be to look at and address the challenges and opportunities that arise in developing and rolling out EV charging infrastructure across the south east region.
Public consultation on the project began on May 1 and it will continue to run until 4pm on May 30.
Waterford Council is part of Region 5 along with the local authorities in counties Wexford, Tipperary, Carlow and Kilkenny.
With that in mind Waterford City & County Council is seeking public input to inform the development of the regional EV strategy.
The current consultation process invites residents, stakeholders and the general public to share their views and input on the future of electric vehicle EV infrastructure in their areas. By developing a comprehensive network of strategically located charging stations the strategy is intended to support the growing number of EVs on our roads ensure that all areas are adequately served and help meet our climate action targets.
