Over €10,000 raised for Waterford GAA star

Brian Greene was an integral part of the Waterford team that secured the county's first Munster title in 39 years.
A GoFundMe campaign has been established to support Waterford hurler Brian Greene, who was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2022.
Brian played for Mount Sion GAA and was part of the infamous Waterford team that won the county's first Munster title in 39 years back in 2002.
Brian recently purchased a home and had started work on its renovation when he got sick. Friends of Brian explained via the GoFundMe page: "We approached Brian to ask for his blessing to continue the work from where he left off nearly two years ago and also to help with the obvious financial burden.
"We intend to add a therapeutic and wellness room to aid Brian on his journey."
Close to €10,000 has been raised in a number of days, with support from De La Salle Camogie, Ballysaggart GAA Club and Waterford GAA stars and Brian’s former teammates John Mullane and Ken McGrath.
