Mayor of Waterford City and County, Cllr. Seamus Ryan has opened an online Book of Condolence in memory of the late Mr. Michael Doody, former Waterford City Manager and Freeman of the City of Waterford.

Mr. Doody, who passed away on April 2nd, is remembered with great warmth and respect for his long and distinguished service to Waterford and for his deep commitment to public life in the city. Tributes paid to him in recent days describe him as a fair, dedicated and highly respected public servant.

Mayor Ryan said: “Michael was a dedicated public servant, who served the people of Waterford with commitment and pride. His vision for Waterford was progressive and forward-thinking, while also respecting and preserving our rich past and heritage.

“I would like to extend my sincere condolences to his children, extended family and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.”
