No end in sight for West Waterford housing estate with no lights

There are currently no lights working in the Cuil na Circe estate in Cappoquin, and no update on when works might be completed.
Councillor John Pratt said at the July sitting of the Dungarvan-Lismore District Council that the works need to be done by winter.
He said he understands the ducts have been put down and the ESB need to connect them up.
But, he said that it could take months, and it has already taken a long time to get this far with the works.
It’s just not good enough. It really, really needs to be acted on very shortly because my understanding from the ESB is that they can take months. This doesn’t have months anymore.
“Please, please, please let’s get this sorted in the next few weeks because it is just shocking,” said Cllr Pratt.
The Director of Services for Planning, Corporate, Culture, HR and IS, Ivan Grimes, said the lighting issues in the estate are not an easy fix.
He said the works require the input of Uisce Eireann, and he said lighting is an issue that has previously been discussed.
But that he would raise with the roads section.
“I understand your frustration,” said Mr Grimes.
