There is no completion date for a highly anticipated and “overdue” housing development in Dungarvan.

Councillors Damian Geoghegan and Thomas Phelan raised the issue of the apartments under construction on the site of the old Ormonde Hotel on O’Connell Street, at this month’s sitting of Dungarvan-Lismore District Council.

Senior architect Walter Holden said that they don’t know yet.

“Unfortunately, we cannot give a date until the developer finishes it. We can’t give a date for when people can go in there," said Mr Holden.

He went on to say that the project is overdue but would have run into difficulty during the pandemic.
