A night of nostalgia and recalling old times will take place on the outskirts of Waterford City in December when a local historical society will hold a 'Night of Reminiscing'.

The event is being organised by South Kilkenny Historical Society and will be the continuation of a tradition that began on January 29, 2015, with contributions from Kitty Foskin, Jamsie Murphy, the late Paddy Egan and the late Denis Buckley.

A spokesperson for the society said that since then, the event has continued to grow in popularity and has featured many wonderful guests including Richard Behal, the late Dick Cody, John Daly, Robbie Doherty, the late Jo Doyle, Michael Fortune, Marion Fossett, the late Andy Kane, Eddie Lenihan, Seamus McGrath, John O’Connor and Peter Walsh.

This year’s 'Night of Reminiscing' will take place in the Rhu Glenn Hotel on Friday, December 5, beginning at 7pm.

"Our guest speaker for the evening will be Bridie Kineavy, from Rosmuc, Co. Galway," said the spokesperson.
