Network Ireland Waterford has appointed Ann Marie Shannon to the position of President.

The organisation is a very prominent one for women in business and Ms Shannon's appointment was made at the organisations recent AGM.

Commenting in the wake of her appointment, Ms Shannon said: "I am honoured to step into this role and to build on the incredible work of my predecessors. I will continue to foster professional development, leadership, and networking opportunities that help women thrive in their careers.” Co-owner of Veritas Chartered Accountants & Registered Auditors, she is someone known to be deeply committed to empowering women in business. Her firm’s ethos centres on building strategic partnerships that support entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey with a strong focus on fostering a sustainable economy.

With extensive board experience, she currently serves as a director of the Solas Cancer Support Centre, Theatre Royal Waterford, and Waterford Chamber of Commerce. As an integral member of Network Ireland Waterford for the past three years, she served as Treasurer and, in 2024, as Vice President and Awards Coordinator, leading a successful awards campaign that resulted in eight branch and two national award winners at the prestigious Network Ireland Businesswoman of the Year Awards.

Guided by the theme, 'Collaborate to Elevate', Ms Shannon envisions her 2025 presidency to be characterised by fostering collaborative relationships, facilitating knowledge sharing, enhancing member visibility, promoting the well-being of members and driving impactful community engagement, all while demonstrating the multifaceted power of Network Ireland.

She will be supported by Vice President Claire Mooney, Vice President Designate Susan Hogan, and a dedicated committee.

Ms Mooney of Reduce Costs said: “I look forward to collaborating with our committee to bring a year of transformative and empowering events to our network and working alongside our inspirational new president, Ann Marie Shannon.”

Susan Hogan of Enerpower Greenvolt, echoed her sentiments and said: “Together with our leadership team, I look forward to building on our successes, expanding our reach, and ensuring the sustainability of the network for years to come.”

The 2025 events calendar will launch at 10am on January 22, with an event at the Granville Hotel titled 'Collaborate to Elevate: A Marketing & Media Mix'.

That event will feature media and marketing experts Mary O’Neill, of Healy Communications and WLR FM, Sharon Ginnetty, of Optimise Marketing and Annmarie Sheehan of Aspire PR & Marketing.

On February 27, Network Ireland Waterford will collaborate with Theatre Royal for a Waterford Chamber of Commerce Business, After Hours event at the Theatre Royal.

Looking ahead, Ms. Shannon stated: “I am excited to get started on this year’s projects and celebrate and support our members throughout 2025.” For more information about Network Ireland Waterford, contact waterford@networkireland.ie or visit networkireland.ie website.
