Mount Congreve Gardens, in Waterford, has welcomed the news that Padel 100 has submitted a planning application for new padel courts within the estate.
A spokesperson said the development marks another step forward in enhancing the amenities and leisure facilities available to the public.
The proposed courts will be located beside the Waterford Greenway, creating a new activity hub that is easily accessible for both local communities and visitors.
By introducing one of the fastest-growing racket sports in the world, Mount Congreve is continuing a long tradition of racket sports on the estate while bringing fresh life to the old, disused tennis court area.
"This project reflects the ongoing vision to expand opportunities for people to enjoy the gardens and estate in new and engaging ways," said the spokesperson.
"The addition of padel will complement the existing walking trails, garden experiences, and outdoor activities, ensuring Mount Congreve remains a place where heritage, nature, and modern recreation meet," she said.
Mount Congreve Gardens looks forward to working with Padel 100 as plans progress and hopes to welcome new players and visitors who will discover the joy of padel in this unique setting.
