Men’s Sheds in Waterford benefit from funding

Ministers Dara Calleary and Jerry Buttimer have today jointly announced details of the Men’s Sheds who will benefit from funding allocations of up to €3,000.
The funding is to assist the 369 Men’s Sheds nationwide with their running/operational costs such as heating, electricity and insurance bills.
The Waterford Sheds who will benefit from funding allocations are:
• Déise: €3,000
• Dungarvan: €3,000
• Lismore: €3,000
• Mincéiri: €3,000
• Portlaw: €566.87
• Shedworx: €3,000
• Tallow: €1914.08
• Waterford City: €580
• Waterford Estuary: €2,804.37
Announcing the funding, Minister Calleary said, “Men’s Sheds provide a vital service to men up and down the country allowing them to come together in a safe, comfortable, and inclusive environment where the can share skills, connect with one another and with their communities.”
“I hope this funding will provide a much needed helping hand to Men’s Sheds in terms of their operational and running costs, allowing them to continue in their vital service to the men of Ireland.
Minister Buttimer added, “For the men and the wider community, the sheds help to tackle social isolation, provide a space to socialise, and build friendships, particularly in rural areas.”
