Memorial sports event will honour two of Waterford's finest
The memorial tournament will take place on June 22
There is excitement mounting in one area of County Waterford ahead of a memorial sports tournament that honours two men who were highly respected within their community.
Ballyduff GAA have announced the date for their annual Tom Cheasty and Derek Ryan Tournament.
It will take place on June 22, in Tom Cheasty Park.
The club's U12 team will take on Mount Sion while the Intermediates will go up against Modeligo.
One local commented that Tom Cheasty and Derek Ryan were two hugely popular names in the parish and were both taken way before their time.
"This tournament is held each year in memory of two men who were so important to the club," she said.
