Man imprisoned for committing theft from popular Waterford store

A 34-year-old man has received a prison sentence for a theft he committed from Elvery's in Waterford city, when his case went before a sitting of Waterford District Court.
Daniel Cashin (34), of 76 Connolly Place, Waterford, is already serving a lengthy prison sentence for an unrelated matter, and is not due for release until 2029.
Last week, the man received an additional four months for the theft he committed from Elvery’s on Michael Street.
On October 14, 2025, Cashin entered the store and stole an assortment of Under Armour clothing. The total value of products stolen amounted to €163.
He was later identified via CCTV footage, where he was seen wearing the stolen clothing. Cashin was arrested and pleaded guilty to Section 4 Theft. He had 94 previous convictions, 34 of which are for theft. Judge Kevin Staunton sentenced him to four months imprisonment.
