Waterford City and County Council are currently dealing with a mudslide incident that occurred on the approach road to a popular tourist village in the county.
The incident occurred on one of the roads leading into Passage East village on Monday evening, August 19. A large bank of mud and earth broke away and came down across the road blocking both carriageways.
The village is one of two that link Counties Waterford and Wexford with a car ferry.
A spokesperson for the local authority told Waterford News & Star that a contractor is onsite and work is ongoing to alleviate the problem.
A further update is expected later today. Motorists should exercise caution when approaching the village.
