Tucked away on Spring Garden Alley, you'll find Little Lane Bookshop, the newest second-hand bookshop in Waterford City.
Proprietor Jim Reid is delighted to have the shop up and running, and to have a chat with people about books.
Jim told the Waterford News and Star: "I'm following a lifelong dream."
After years working in IT and academia, Jim came home to Waterford City.
One day, the Ballybricken native asked friends where the second hand bookshop was, only to be told that such a shop didn't exist in Waterford.
Jim said: "I wanted to fill a gap there by having a dedicated shop for second-hand books."
Jim took on the daunting task of setting up the shop, with a little help from Universal Graphics who created the lovely shopfront.
Looking around the shop, there is already a wide selection of books, from recent bestsellers, young adult fiction, history and sporting events.
Jim is planning to expand the shop by adding reading spaces, a coffee area and a dedicated children's area.
The shop opened on Friday, August 30, and while the roadworks may have dampened the opening, Jim has been thrilled by the range of customers coming in.
He said: "Only the last four days I've seen the whole spectrum of people, people of all ages, a bookshop is universal all across the board."
