A major water treatment plant in Dungarvan, which was approved for construction by Waterford City and County Council, has now been appealed to An Bord Pleanála.
The development consists of a new water treatment plant located in the townland of Ballynamuck West, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford.
The plans include a new raw water tank, new used wash water equalisation storage tanks, a new contact tank and a storage reservoir.
Also planned is a new process building with solar panels on the roof, a new administration building, new pumphouse building, external area for chemical storage tanks, a new ESB substation building, a new generator and fuel storage tank.
The site will be contained within a 2.4 metre high palisade fence and a security gate.

The case is due to be decided by February 10, 2025.
