Kenza (10) is a 'Rose Bud' for Rose of Tralee Festival

One of the Rose Buds is 10-year-old Kenza Zoghbi, from the Ferrybank area of Waterford.

There’s more to the Rose of Tralee than being a Rose, or a Rose Escort, because young girls from all over Ireland will each be paired with an International Rose during the festival.

Thirty-two young girls have been selected as Rose Buds for the event which is currently taking place.

One of those girls is 10-year-old Kenza Zoghbi, from the Ferrybank area of Waterford.

Kenza has been paired with the South Australia Rose, and the opportunity means a great deal to her.

However, she is well versed in success and no stranger to being involved in high profile events, despite her young age.

In fact, she may already be a familiar face to some in Waterford as two years ago, she was the only child from the Déise county selected to appear on the Late Late Toy Show.

She appeared on the show as toy tester for Barbie.

Kenza is also very active in the community and has been involved in the Pride of Place for Ferrybank community as a Tidy Towns, 'litter bug', where she recited an important message about picking up our litter and also performed an Irish dance piece.

Kenza also helped bring Christmas cheer to local families as Santa’s Little Helper Elf at a community event in Ferrybank.

Her mam, Anne is also very involved in the community and was a founder of Ferrybank Women’s Shed.

Kenza is passionate about her Irish culture and attends the McGrath School of Irish Dancing in Waterford.

However, she also has her own YouTube channel, where she shares fun, positive content including toy reviews, creative videos, and moments from her daily life.

"It’s just another way she expresses herself and connects with others in a fun and uplifting way," said her mam.

The Rose of Tralee Festival ends tonight, Tuesday, August 19.
