Jeep and trailer seized in Waterford following inspection

A motorist in Waterford had their vehicle seized over the weekend following an inspection from the Gardaí.
In an online post the force in Waterford said the incident occurred in the Waterford County Community Engagement Area.
'A jeep and trailer were seized at Orchardstown Cross, Tramore, following an inspection,' noted the Gardaí.
They said that during the inspection it was discovered that the trailer was overloaded, there were no brakes and no lights.
It was also discovered that the driver of the vehicle didn't have a licence to tow the trailer in question.
A spokesperson for the Gardaí urged motorists to be vigilant, noting: "Ensure your vehicle is roadworthy before you start your trip."
The Gardaí also stated that a prosecution in relation to the matter will follow.
