A West Waterford councillor has asked the council to move obstructive signage from a disabled parking bay at Clonea Castle.
Cllr Thomas Phelan said at the June sitting of the Dungarvan-Lismore District Council that he has been asked to raise an issue of council signage blocking the view for disabled drivers.
He said one example is a frequently ignored anti-littering sign.
“In Clonea Castle in the car park, the view from the disabled parking bay is almost entirely obstructed by council signage, which is totally out of place.
"It's not fair on disabled drivers who should be able to enjoy the scenery like everyone else who parks there.
"So, can the signage be moved to one side of the car park where it won't cause any obstruction?
"One of the signs there is an overly big anti-littering sign, which is routinely ignored anyway, so it's almost become litter itself.
"So if that could be moved to one side, I would appreciate it,” said Cllr Phelan.
