A memorial indoor bowls event in County Waterford proved to be a great success and a fitting tribute to someone who was very much respected in the local community.
The Sacred Heart & District Active Retirement Association organised the event in memory of local woman, Elizabeth (Peg) Tebay and it was held in the Butler Community Centre in Waterford on Tuesday, September 3.

Sixteen teams from all over the south east took part and the competition with the winning team being St. Paul’s 'Magpies' while another local St Paul's tea, 'Wobbles', came second.
It was a fantastic day and the organisers were delighted with its success. It's hoped it will now become an annual event.

Indoors bowls are played every Monday from 10am to 12pm, in Butler Community Centre and there is coaching for beginners who never played before. One of the attractions of indoor bowls is that it can be played by all ages including men, women, juniors and seniors.

Those involved with the association said it's a great way to make new friends and new members are always welcome.
