Historic day for Waterford parish as bishop to ordain first permanent diaconate
St Paul's Church in Waterford
A historic occasion is to take place in St. Paul’s Church on Sunday, January 25, when Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan will ordain David Clooney to the Permanent Diaconate.
This is the first time in its fifty-year history that the parish has hosted such a wonderful occasion.
David, who lives in Lismore Park, will join two other Deacons ordained in the past year for our diocese.
The parish says that its prayers and good wishes go with David and his companions as they come forward to serve in their parishes.
This is a purely voluntary position and is appreciated and needed.
May they be blessed in their new ministry as they are welcomed and minister to all.
