In Waterford County, it was Sophie.
For boys last year, the most popular baby name was Noah in the city and Charlie in the county.
Nationally, the most popular name for a girl last year was Sophie overtaking Grace in 2023.
Jack remained the most popular boy's name.
Noah was also the most popular name for a boy in Roscommon, Wicklow, the Dublin areas, and Donegal and it tied with Jack in Louth.
Waterford County was the only place where Charlie was the most popular name.
