After winning back his seat on Waterford Council's City South ward, John Hearne (Sinn Féin) spoke about his excitement in getting back to work in Larchville and Lisduggan.
He said: "I'm really looking forward to getting back into it again, we've got €5,000 worth of trees coming, we got a grant there last week.

"We had a conference in the Parish last week, all the national bodies were at it because we have won so many awards, they're now trying to figure out how come we can do this.
"The government is now getting onboard to say if we can get it right in Larchville/Lisduggan, we can get it right everywhere else."
Improving the community is paramount to John. He said: "That's what it's about, just lifting people up all the time.
"The Knights Templar project, we restored a 900-year-old graveyard, brought it back to pristine condition, it will be there forever."
"In Central Avenue, we had a problem there with fellas dealing, the Guards pushed them out and then we got the Millennium Garden in, and it just transforms people's lives."
